The Nourish New York initiative is a lifeline for so many families and farmers who have been struggling with changes brought on by COVID-19, which is why the Assembly, along with the Senate, unanimously passed legislation to establish the Nourish New York program in law (A.5781-A). We also supported the program with a $50 million investment as part of the final 2021-22 state budget.

Nourish New York was created in response to the surge in demand at food banks across the state and disruptions in the food supply chain that left New York farmers having to throw away products they could not sell. The program has successfully rerouted surplus agricultural products to populations who need them most through New York’s network of food banks.
