| 12/17/2025 | Ch. 599 of 2024 | Ensures that public buildings are equipped with medications that can reverse opioid overdoses (eg. Narcan) and directs state officials to decide how many are needed, how staff should be trained, and other safety guidelines. |

Prohibits employees of any state or local board of elections from maintaining a financial interest in any vendor company providing services to a candidate under their jurisdiction or by any vendor or company that sells voting machines, electronic poll books, printers, or any other technical or electronic equipment. Requires any BOE employee running for office in an election overseen by that board to be placed on a leave without pay until their candidacy is over, unless they receive authorization from a majority of that board’s commissioners. |

Adds athletic trainers to the list of mandated reporters and clarifies that athletic trainers can evaluate emergent neurological conditions and treat certain injuries after clearance from a physician. Also permits athletic trainers who are licensed to practice in another state, territory or country to provide services to athletes and team personnel at a discrete sanctioned team sporting event or performance in New York. |

Expands eligibility and clarifies procedures for individuals who file a claim for victim compensation funds by removing the law enforcement reporting requirement and allowing alternative forms of evidence to be used. |
